The Holy Spirit led us from the moment we touched down on the beautiful island of Hispaniola, in the Dominican Republic. Every obstacle that we met; God turned into a stepping-stone that became a brick laying the foundation of Bridges Abroad. As our plan disintegrated, His plan was able to unfold. The Lord strategically placed thirty-five new volunteers, from all levels of society, including several local entrepreneurs in positions of service, to show the love of Jesus to their neighbors for such a time as this. Botijuela is a small remote village found just outside of Bayahibe where many live without knowing day to day where their next meal will come from. Most live in houses with no electricity or clean water to drink. Everyone who attended the Free Medical Clinics was examined by a doctor, supplied medication and the opportunity to receive eyeglasses. A nutritionist provided a free assessment with education and a food package was sent home with each family. A team of prayer warriors prayed for everyone who came. The Gospel was shared in love, and seven people dedicated their lives to Christ. We thank God for every door opened in the face of adversity and every seed planted to bring growth to this new ministry. Love builds a bridge.
