“Our plan” was April, Gods plan prevailed in May!

Botijuela sits 5 minutes just outside Bayahibe, Dominican Republic… where Paradise and Poverty Co-Exist! This is a community of people who need our attention, love & support. Many/Most live with zero electricity, clean (parasite free) water or food for their dinner, day to day. They live in homes with dirt floors and without screens on the windows/doors, and temperatures in the upper 90’s is not uncommon.

Our last trip was this past October. Bridges Abroad was able to serve over 450 people between this community and Haiti Chiquita about 15 minutes away, with the combined efforts of local volunteers, medical staff and pastoral oversight. We were able to provide a food distribution, clean water, medical care, medicine and vitamins to each person that came to our 1st Free Medical Clinic. We would love to be able to follow up again with this same type of love & care and also bring to them so much more; such as Spanish Bibles, Dental Supplies (Toothbrushes & Toothpaste), Shoes & Balls/Dolls for the children. And yet the list of needs is still so much more! One of the biggest concerns we hear from those we serve, is that people come and go but there is no long term relationship or commitment. We would like to show them that we care enough to come back again and again, building a bridge to make that happen. With your devotion & sacrifice this is definitely possible.
